Nacoa: Helpline
Quint Boa approached me to produce this film for Nacoa. It’s a hybrid 3D and AI film about the impact alcoholic parents have on young children and how they can contact Nacoa through their helpline to get the support they need. The subject was heartbreaking to learn about.
The process
I framed each shot in 3D and built a base lighting setup, which carried over really well into AI once prompted. The combination of 3D and AI felt like breaking new ground, and I loved the learning curve.
My son, Freddie, voiced Sam our central character, and Quint provided a brilliant voiceover.
Takeaway
Apart from Quint’s voiceover, I made the whole film myself, and I’m really proud of it. A few years ago, a film like this would have been impossible to make in my spare time, especially on this budget.
